A quick word on the recent ramblings of Robert Kennedy Jr.

As one might expect, I found myself doom-scrolling through Instagram reels last night. I stumbled on this, video, to which I felt the ever-present compulsion to post a fury laden rant.
Dear readers,
This is Robert Kennedy Jr. He's apparently going to be running for president. He wrote the book about Dr. Anthony Fauci, in which he spread what at least SEEMS to be a bunch of bull shit about ivermectin and a plot to suppress and ignore research and use NIH to wage a genocide. In other words, he's full of shit. Word on the street is that his Chappaqua neighbors are all shunning him, and even his family, the Kennedys are too.
Here's my reply in the comments, it was too long to actually post.
I try to keep my comments free of politics. My one exception, however, is when information is clearly being weaponized by foreign powers (or foreign interests) (domestic ones too) to achieve geopolitical aims debilitating to free society. Undermine the West, the true, freedom loving, human-rights upholding, anti-tyranny West, and you're fair game. Here goes:
"Yeah. I’m sorry. All of that is true, but war is war, and THE ONLY THING THAT CAN DESTROY AMERICA IS ITSELF.
2006: Almost everyone between the ages of 13 and 25 uploads all their personal info to Facebook for anyone to scrape, store, and use for subsequent intelligence operations. Everyone above and below that age at that time follow suit.
2014: The Russians embark upon a massive information warfare campaign to disrupt the American institutions by confusing and outraging American citizens. They also annex Crimea which borders Ukraine.
2016: Confused and outraged Americans elect a con artist who
• robbed tax payer coffers blind,
• undermined geopolitical stability by squandering what little remained of the Unipolar moment, (which for those of you who don't know was/is that thing that allows us to actually shrug off the plights of foreigners and human rights violations abroad and focus only on the small troubles as consumers in an optimized economic world),
• recklessly endangered that economy by slashing interest rates immediately upon getting into office, an action that created and exacerbated the existence of an ENTIRE CLASS of retail investors who don’t actually know what they’re doing many of whom now need to lie and con for a living after blowing all their free money from the fed on cryptos, NFTs and other absurd speculative “investments”,
• kidnapped children at the border to deter migrants through cruelty rather than a wall like he said,
• seriously entertained the bar-coding of Muslims and other “undesirables” (in his eyes) (I’m firmly opposed and offended by the very idea of this),
• haplessly using the emergency override on all iphones and smartphones for his own political gain at a time when there were false reports about a missile potentially coming towards california,
• outright banning of Muslim travellers from certain countries,
• SO much more, including 30,573 lies over his 4 years in office; the public has never allowed a president to be caught in just one,
• BUT, let’s end with his attempt at a coup to take over the government and appoint himself dictator of the first and greatest free nation on earth.
2022: the Russians invade Ukraine after, rightly concluding there’s enough people in America who wouldn’t give a shit.
2023: This guy gives this speech objecting to America standing by its values, in a shaky voice.
I’M SORRY, but his voice isn’t shaky from any medical condition.
His voice is shaky because he’s standing on a thin layer of glossy paint atop a mountain of almost liquid feces, and he’s trying to keep his balance.
He’s full of BS."
Now… i am sympathetic to the notion that maybe, just maybe, he's been taken out of context. Maybe, just maybe, he was trying to say we need to help the poor as well as Ukraine. But… I read his book about Fauci, and in my opinion, he'll say anything.
Were the Kennedys ever trust-worthy? Thinking back to 1964, it seems to me that their trick was to use their expertise as leisurely rich people to anticipate the new communication mediums and weaponize them for their own careerist political goals with precision. Which is, in some sense, a little scarier than a meat ball like Donald Trump who hijacks them to wreck everything in his path and keep the prized rubble to himself.
And look, I agree America’s got a war on the poor, but… that’s no reason to allow the situation in Ukraine or to allow Putin and Russia to commit war crimes. Injustice over there, is injustice anywhere.
In any case, I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic he's doing the right thing, rather than the selfish thing; whatever the latter case may be.
'Til next time.
